The PTA at P.S. 145 is a vibrant and inclusive community, bringing together parents from the Russian Dual Language Program, Spanish Dual Language Program, and the Monolingual Program. This dynamic group is dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for all students. Through collaborative efforts, they organize cultural events, fundraisers, and educational workshops that celebrate the diversity of our school. Their active involvement fosters a supportive environment where every child's unique background is valued. By working together, the PTA at P.S. 145 ensures that all students have access to enriching opportunities, making our school a thriving hub of multicultural learning and growth.

We pull off some amazing events at P.S. 145 but to ensure that our awesome PTA Co-Presidents don't burn out by October, it is critical that we have families contribute their time to make the magic happen.

We urge you to reflect on the gifts and talents you possess and pick a Sub-Committee to help out with. Click on the categories to register today!

Class parents play a vital role in supporting teachers throughout the school year. They help coordinate classroom activities, communicate with other parents, and organize events, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Their involvement enhances the learning environment, allowing teachers to focus more on instruction and students to benefit from a more enriched educational experience.

P.S. 145's annual online auction is not only our largest fundraising event of the year—it's also a thrilling opportunity for adults to engage in some friendly competition and come out as winners! The funds raised are crucial, fueling an array of important initiatives like P.S. 145 Scholarship Programs, Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS), celebratory events such as 5th Grade and Pre-K Graduations, Mother/Father and Grandparents Day, movie nights, and festive school holiday potlucks.

This event requires a team effort, and we're already gearing up for an unforgettable 2025 auction. If you want to be part of something truly special, please email us at pta.vp.fundraising@ps145m.org to get involved. Don’t miss your chance to make a difference while having a blast!

Come out and help our kids photograph their best and say cheese!! Picture day will not happen by itself on Monday, November 4, 2024! We need volunteers to help coordinate the main picture day but also the make up one for when those shots don't come out exactly as you had hoped. Your assistance will ensure the day runs smoothly, from organizing students to managing schedules. Volunteering for this event is a great way to get involved and support our school community.

Remember buying books at the scholastic book fair when you were a kid? Guess what, Scholastic is still rockin' & rollin' with those mobile bookshelves, tons of books and even more pencils and furry journals that are designed to spark the love of reading in writing in our kids. We need volunteers to help with the fair the week of March 3 - 8, 2025. Your support is crucial in setting up, assisting students with selections, and managing sales. This event promotes literacy and raises funds for our school. Join us to make this year's book fair a memorable success!

Raising kids is definitely a group effort and takes a village as Oprah so poignantly coined years ago. For that reason, we are intentional about celebrating the first teachers at home: the mamas, the papas and the grandfolks! We need volunteers three times a year to help serve breakfast and lunch during special events:
        9/22/24  Dad’s Day

        1/14/25  Grandparent's Day

        5/13/25  Mom’s Day.

These occasions are important for building our school community, and your assistance will ensure they run smoothly. You bring the apron and we will provide the rubber gloves and hairnets so our families can get their school day started with a healthy breakfast.

Last year we had a movie night and it blew the roof off the house! Parents get to mingle while kids are watching a movie in the auditorium. This year's movie nights will take place as follows:

        12/6/24  Home Alone 6PM-8PM
        4/11/24  Kids Choice  6PM-8PM

This is a great opportunity to connect with other families while supporting a fun event for our students. Your involvement helps create a safe and enjoyable experience, making movie nights a highlight for everyone!

At P.S. 145 there are several opportunities to have our kids shine on stage with two schoolwide concerts and two schoolwide performances throughout the year.

      12/20/24  Holiday Harmonies

2/6/25  Black History Tribute: Latin Edition

        4/25/25  Asian Heritage Concert

6/3/25  Spring Dance Festival: Movie Soundtracks

The nights can be long so our PTA comes to the rescue with the sale of snacks and beverages during intermission of these amazing shows. Your participation is crucial in supporting these activities and enhancing the overall experience for students and families. Volunteers are given the opportunity to watch the shows in the morning without the crowds to snap all the pictures they want of their kids!
